Triologie: a vision of telling stories through print and fabric

If you own a piece of Triologie womenswear, you’ll love to hear the story behind it. It all started when Sylvia Lim and a duo of friends conceived their vision of a fashion label dedicated to the happy, free-spirited and world-savvy woman. The idea was to create happy prints on happy dresses, and that has been the ethos behind Triologie since 2012. Starting with the sourcing of quality European fabrics and prints, each collection sold out and Sylvia decided that it was time to find inspiration from her own country, Singapore.

She ventured to start the Singapore story fabric prints when she was asked to dress one of the awardees of the President’s Exemplary Mother’s award and the kueh-kueh print which she created and was later auctioned off were sold out. That gave her the courage to explore creating more Singapore story prints.

These prints are inspired by the joys of wanderlust and stories that form part of our lives. With each season comes a new discovery that Sylvia researches into a part of our little city state, whether it is a piece of culture, a place of interest or delicacy from our childhood. For example, the Png Kueh (rice cake, a Teochew savoury), the Wang-wang (pineapple), and the Tuckshop (ice gem biscuits, nostalgic traditional biscuit tins, enamel trays) are designed and illustrated into prints that form Triologie’s fabric design. Another series of prints, Katong is my Hood, Joo Chiat and Tanglin Gate brings to mind picturesque scenescapes of Sylvia’s favourite neighborhoods.

With a repertoire of 20 Singapore story prints, Triologie’s product range has expanded to fabric mules, face masks, customisable dolls and rooster baskets, all of which are part and parcel of our 100 per cent hand-sewn and handmade motto by our pool of seamstresses in Singapore that support the production. Their expertise has allowed us to offer a made to measure service to our customers, guided by Sylvia’s eye for design.

We hope you’ll continue to enjoy your Triologie pieces as a keepsake of the memories that you find familiar and inviting and that it draws a conversation when you wear it. We welcome you to the Triologie tribe and family! #localdesigner #madeinsingapore #singaporestoryprints
